I use a TB apollo 16 and apollo twin on my hacktintosh/gaming pc with thunderbolt. I have an MSI motherboard & ASUS tb3 pcie card. Works flawlessly on both OS. If your mobo doesn't have a thunderbolt header or the lightning symbol over the usb-c port then you will need to swap mobo.
