Growing 25 to 30 feet tall with a spread of 25 feet, Mexican Plum is a North American native tree which forms an irregular canopy composed of yellow/green, shiny leaves with fuzzy undersides and thorny branches (Fig. 1).
It makes a nice tree for planting near power lines due to its small size. Mexican Plum should be grown in full sun or partial shade on well-drained, rich soil but will tolerate almost any soil. It is quite drought-tolerant once established.
14 Φεβ 2020 · Wild plum or Mexican plum, a member of the rose family, is a single trunked, small, round-headed, twiggy tree growing 15-35 feet tall. The bark of the trunk and larger branches is dark gray and often furrowed. As the trees age, the bark peels off in large gray plates.
Its white flowers, similar to other fruit trees in the Prunus family, are highly attractive to bees and other pollinators. At maturity, Mexican plum’s about 20-25′ tall, with spreading branches, perfect for smaller gardens.
