30 Αυγ 2010 · The conical lower portion of the lug nut is stuck in the wheel and still threaded onto the stud. The entire section of the lug nut that the socket fits over broke off into the socket. I have aluminum stock style sport wheels on a 98 so the conical part of the lug nut is really buried in there.
12 Σεπ 2012 · Aluminum wheel lug nuts get stuck. I bought some used, Jeep aluminum wheels, supposedly off a 1995 model. I had new tires put on, and installed by a Goodyear dealer, on my 1997. One week later, I could not remove them.
6 Σεπ 2022 · I put the castle retainer over the axle nut, and went to take the wheel back off so I could put the cotter pin in it. Instead of zipping off like the others, one of the lug nuts turned only a few times and jammed. In trying to un-jam it, the stud came out of the hub, with the nut still seized on it.
