Prefixes are morphemes (groups of letters with particular semantic meaning) that are added onto the beginning of roots and base words to change their meaning.
The prefix ‘si’ is derived from the Latin language, and is used to form words related to the senses, such as sight, sound, and smell. It is also used to form words related to time, such as ‘since’ and ‘simultaneous’. This prefix is commonly used in the English language, and can be found in many words.
