26 Σεπ 2024 · Tocotrienols, a form of vitamin E, boast antioxidant properties that help protect cells from damage caused by free radicals—unstable molecules that can contribute to aging and diseases. Research suggests that tocotrienols may support heart health by reducing cholesterol levels and improving blood vessel function.
The vitamin E, i.e. chroman-6-ols collectively tocochromanols (tocopherols + tocotrienols), is generally ingested along with fat-containing foods . Good source are vegetable oils, nuts and nut oil seeds, egg yolk, margarine, cheese, soya beans, wheat germ, oatmeal, avocados, olives, green leaf vegetables, etc. [ 2 ].
3 Δεκ 2020 · Tocols are natural constituents of several foods like dairy, vegetable oils, nuts, and grains. Their presence in foods, namely, as food additives, helps prevent lipid oxidation, which negatively affects the sensorial quality of foods, and even the nutritional value and safety.
Groundbreaking research showing tocotrienols can improve and often cure fatty liver disease, improve end-stage liver disease, and protect hepatic function; Pathways by which tocotrienols protect neurons, prevent neuronal cell death, inhibit cholesterol, beneficially alter its fractions, and dampen inappropriate inflammation
12 Νοε 2014 · a-Tocotrienol (TCT) represents the most potent neuroprotective form of natural vitamin E that is generally recognized as a safe certified by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. The recent work of Park et al. [ 170 ] addresses a novel molecular mechanism by which a-TCT may be protective against stroke in vivo.
18 Σεπ 2018 · Research suggests that tocotrienols have an overall positive effect on human health, and specifically carry with them anticancer properties. Reducing risk of cardiovascular disease and lowering...
Coupled with the bioavailability and safety profile of tocotrienols, the ability of these compounds to modulate COPD progression by targeting the inflammation pathways renders them potential candidates for novel therapeutic approaches in the treatment of COPD patients.
