Sign in to iLok License Manager with the account that the iLok USB is registered to. If your iLok USB is not being recognized, the problem could be with the iLok USB, the iLok software, or the protected software. If you use a USB hub, make sure you are using the correct power adapter for the hub.

Can I get an ilok usb and use it instead of the cloud, without it wasting a license activation to transfer? Or do I have to waste a transfer to get an usb?

5 Αυγ 2009 · The safest way is to have your licenses on an iLok dongle, buy the zero downtime subscription at 30$ a year and enable total loss coverage (which is free if you have the zero downtime subscription).
If you use tons of plugins and move from studio to studio there's probably a more effective way to install a huge plugin library than a USB dongle that might max at 100MB/S - which would vastly increase the cost of an ilok.
iLok USBs🔗. An iLok USB must be registered to an iLok account before you can activate licenses to it. Sign in to iLok License Manager and connect your unregistered iLok USB(s). The iLok USB(s) will appear in the Location List, but grayed out, and a pop-up will appear. Select “yes” to add the iLok USB to your account.
