Use these resources if you need to write a research paper template. Or you can even download an MLA template here. Usually, this format would contain footnotes, in-text citations, and more. The MLA format has specific guidelines for presenting the paper. When you write using this style, you always have to use the English language.
Below are some basic guidelines for formatting a paper in MLA Style: Type your paper on a computer and print it out on standard, white 8.5 x 11-inch paper. Double-space the text of your paper and use a legible font (e.g. Times New Roman).
When assigning an essay, instructors usually specify to students that they should format their paper in a certain way. While there are many commonly assigned formats, such as APA and Chicago Style, this handout will focus on the MLA (Modern Language Association) Style.
Double-space the entire research paper, including quotations, notes, and the list of works cited. Indent the first line of a paragraph half an inch from the left margin. Indent set-off quotations half an inch as well (for examples, see 76–80 in the MLA Handbook).
