5 Απρ 2023 · So, in order to typeset the hieroglyph for negative numbers, you can type \char"130BB. For one fourth, you could write \shortstack{ \char"1308B \\ \char"133FD }. Of course, you would need to have a font installed that supports Egyptian hieroglyphs.

31 Αυγ 2012 · We are beginning with a brief discussion of ancient number systems: Egyptian, Babylonian, Mayan, Chinese, Incan, Greek, Roman, and Hindu-Arabic. As I was writing up the first homework assignment it occured to me that I should investigate whether these numbers could be typeset using LaTeX.
Some mathematical elements need to be typeset using fonts containing characters/symbols of a certain style; for example, it is customary to represent real numbers with a blackboard bold font (such as R), or topological spaces with calligraphic font (such as (T).
