I've spent most of today trying to fix my bricked HP Z840. I did a firmware udpate as I saw the A.62 version just came out. The updated went through o.k., workstation rebooted a few times as one would expect, then a message (on the white background of the bios template): RAM issues...
14 Νοε 2023 · Even when I only keep four memory sticks on this Z840, the four beeps will remain and only can power on upon press it again. In short, everything works fine, except the four beeps upon the first press of the power button.
28 Ιαν 2021 · I get 5 beeps with the flowing memory configuration: CPU0 4x8GB 2400 Mhz Modules in slots 1, 3 ,6 and 8 . CPU1 4x8GB 2400 Mhz Modules in slots 1, 3 ,6 and 8 . Would that be because of an incompatible memory p/n , faulty/ incompatible motherboard, faculty processor with only 1 working memory controller ?
26 Απρ 2022 · I am getting this 5 beeps error randomly with any slots with any sticks. Did that error repeat for you after your update or was it fixed?
29 Ιουν 2024 · I have run into something similar on a Z840 that I picked up as a "defective" machine. The motherboard would not reach BIOS despite my best attempts. I would up replacing the motherboard and it regained full function.
