13 Οκτ 2024 · In the world of subwoofers, SVS and HSU (HSU Research) are two fairly popular subwoofer designers and manufacturers. In this article, we will be making a comparison of SVS vs HSU to see how they compare as companies and how their subwoofers stack up against each other.
Currently running an older 10" Sony Sub. Looks like both the PB-1000 PRO and VTF 2.5 are both well thought off. SVS is $120 more and I plan to buy two. Extra $240 is fine if it's worth it. Room is ~2380 cuft. Above the the garage so it has low, angled ceilings. Listening is 95% movies/TV, 5% games. No music. Thoughts between the two?
5 Αυγ 2022 · When comparing the 2 with the Hsu in 1 port open, the Hsu has a 4.5db advantage at 16hz but otherwise they are fairly evenly matched down to 20Hz with a slight advantage to the SVS over 20Hz. In 2 ports open tune the Hsu looses out in the low end but has an advantage over 30hz.
For consumer subs (not DIY), I still recommend SVS for entry level subs (just below 20Hz and under $600 USD). Once you get up to OPs requirements, mid-tier subs or higher, there may be better value propositions from other companies.
I think the HSU is the slightly better sub but I would go with SVS, leme explain why. With the SVS you are given more of an upgrade path. The lineup goes from the pb 1000 pro all the way to the Pb16 ultra.

22 Μαρ 2022 · Hello, I'm deciding between 4 subs. I am optimizing for mostly music, some movies. Deciding between: Rythmik F12 - $1139; Rel T9x - $1249; SVS SB-3000 - $1200; HSU ULS-15 MK2 - $1084 shipped; Any thoughts on which one is best for a clean musical sound?
