13 Οκτ 2024 · In the world of subwoofers, SVS and HSU (HSU Research) are two fairly popular subwoofer designers and manufacturers. In this article, we will be making a comparison of SVS vs HSU to see how they compare as companies and how their subwoofers stack up against each other.
The SVS has better delay/parametric EQ controls, which can be useful for room mode compensation and integrating multiple subwoofers (a future upgrade could be a miniDSP for even better integration, so it could be achieved with the HSUs as well).
For consumer subs (not DIY), I still recommend SVS for entry level subs (just below 20Hz and under $600 USD). Once you get up to OPs requirements, mid-tier subs or higher, there may be better value propositions from other companies.
5 Αυγ 2022 · I have a HSU sub and 3 SVS subs. Either are good choices. As you mentioned, the HSU provides slightly more bang for buck but the SVS has unmatched service, shipping and return policies.

For starters I have a 12" Klipsch sw 112 that works fine, but leaves me asking for more!.. I was pretty much set on getting an SVS PB12 plus or PC12 plus.
29 Μαΐ 2021 · Since you don't have an DSP then the SVS is the best choice. With the PB1000Pro you get 3-band Parametric EQ to knock down resonance peaks in your room, whereas with the LV12F you get 1-band. SVS also offers a phone APP that allows you control the volume, crossover, EQ, phase, etc. from your couch.
I haven't compared them but the Hsu is (or can) a ported sub (with slightly more power) that will have more output than the other two. They are all decent subs, but I would go with the Hsu since you can try it both ways.
