My experience (particularly in relation to the advertising program that was pushed upon me via multiple phone calls after initially creating my business profile) felt like a scam, and Yelp’s subsequent lack of communication makes me feel like I was ‘scammed’.
They billed for for over $200 in yelp ad clicks when I thought there was a $300 free credit. Steps I took. 1.) Stopped my yelp ads program (obviously) 2.) Cancelled bank debit card - refused to pay called Yelp complained but no refund. 3.)
Yelp’s policies strictly prohibit compensated and incentivized reviews as they can mislead consumers. To help inform people’s spending decisions, we issue Consumer Alerts that appear over a business’s reviews to warn people when we discover suspicious review activity.
20 Σεπ 2023 · Yelp strictly prohibits incentivizing or offering payment for reviews, as this behavior misleads consumers, artificially inflates ratings and is unfair to businesses who rightfully earn their great reputations on Yelp.
Yelp’s Consumer Alerts program warns people when we find evidence of extreme attempts to manipulate a business’s ratings and reviews.
