21 Μαρ 2016 · I've had it suggested to me that I should use FileResult to allow users to download files from my Asp.Net MVC application. But the only examples of this I can find always has to do with image files (specifying content type image/jpeg).
If you want to let the browser handle by its default behavior (plugin or download), just send two parameters. public ActionResult DownloadPDF() {. return File("~/Content/MyFile.pdf", "application/pdf"); } You'll need to use the third parameter to specify a name for the file on the browser dialog.
