The School offers accredited programs leading to the Master of Science (MS) and the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degrees. The School also offers a post-graduate advanced certificate program (Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner).
Admission to the School of Nursing is competitive. Generic Program and Accelerated 2nd Degree Program students must be able to attend during the day and evening on a full-time basis, including weekends. All clinical assignments are made by the school faculty depending on site availability.
The Hunter-Bellevue School of Nursing (HBSON) is the nursing school of Hunter College, a public university that is a constituent organization of the City University of New York (CUNY). It is located on the Brookdale Campus, at East 25th Street and 1st Avenue in Kips Bay, near Bellevue Hospital.
Our undergraduate programs combine liberal arts and professional education with a humanistic and comprehensive approach to health care, leading to a bachelor of science (BS) degree in nursing. The undergraduate curriculum provides a strong foundation for graduate study at the master's and doctoral levels, of which programs are offered at the HBSON.
