13 Αυγ 2001 · Hurst Shifter problem solved and some tips for adjusting your Hurst Shifter. I installed a Hurst Competition Plus shifter in my '74 during the restification project. I have been having some trouble with it getting stuck in second gear when shifting from second to third.
Move the shift knob to the Neutral position. (Set the parking brake to ensure that the vehicle does not move during installation). 2005-2009: Work the upper part of the shift boot out of the retainer groove of the shift knob and slide down onto stick. 2005-2010: Remove the knob by turning counter clockwise.

23 Οκτ 2007 · To remove the stick, place or push a steel shim or feeler gauge down each side of the stick, at the bottom where the chrome handle goes into the mechanism, and pull. Should you need new clips and isolators, they are available through your nearest Hurst retailer or through Hurst for a nominal charge.
20 Αυγ 2021 · Remove the neutral pin from the transmission and slide the shifter across the neutral gate to see if it moves freely both across all the gates and also into Reverse. If you detect a catch or resistance to movement, the shifter is likely not adjusted properly. The shifter should move freely.
