24 Φεβ 2023 · Montana’s Hyalite Canyon is a mountain valley creation that comprises sections of the Gallatin National Forest. This visually stunning recreation area is situated between Gallatin Canyon and the impossibly scenic Paradise Valley, just to the south of Bozeman.
With all the new trail development happening in the canyon, an updated map is exactly what we need, whether we’ve lived here for 30 years or 30 days. Luckily, Friends of Hyalite (FOH) , the nonprofit organization pledged to raise public awareness about Hyalite, as well as raise money for winter road-plowing, is on top of things.
Hyalite Canyon is part of the Custer Gallatin National Forest. It is the most heavily visited Forest Service area in the state of Montana, offering a stunning array of activities for outdoor recreationists.
Hyalite Canyon Recreation Area is the most heavily visited recreation area in Montana with three campgrounds and two day use areas. Langohr Campground along Hyalite Creek provides wildlife viewing and fishing midst towering rocky peaks.
Friends of Hyalite is a non-profit organization dedicated to stewardship of, access to, and support for year round recreation in Hyalite Canyon.
1 Ιουλ 2024 · There are several canyons that lead up into horseshoe shaped ridges of high peaks. At the head of the canyons, glacial cirques hold gemlike lakes and ponds. The forest is mostly fir and lodgepole pine up to timberline. There are good, well-maintained trails leading up into these canyons.
