Individuals who wish to be an organ/tissue donor no longer need to fill out a donor card or have a sticker affixed to their license – they can simply register online at www.donatelifetexas.org.
The Organ/Tissue Donor Registry is a confidential computerized database that documents a person's wishes regarding donation. Information contained in the registry is only released to organ and tissue procurement personnel and medical examiners after all efforts to save a person's life have failed.

Anyone can become an organ donor. If you’re under age 18, you need the consent of a parent or guardian. You can give some types of tissues and organs while you’re alive, and others can be donated after your death.
