13 Μαρ 2023 · 'Densa' grows to 4 to 6 feet in height with a slightly greater width. 'Compacta' grows to 3 to 4 feet in height with a spread up to 6 feet. It has a tighter, more rounded growth habit than other forms.

Ilex. Dark green leathery leaves of Ilex glabra 'Densa' are rounder and wider than I. g. 'Shamrock'. It will become a tall but dense-leafed shrub. Takes pruning well. Evergreen, it is also wet site and salt tolerant. The top performer in the recent shrub trials at Longwood Gardens.
The Densa inkberry grows four to six feet tall with a similar spread, although it can get bigger with space and no pruning. Space plants four feet apart to form a hedge or give them five feet or more of space if using them as individual specimens.
