iLok USBs🔗. An iLok USB must be registered to an iLok account before you can activate licenses to it. Sign in to iLok License Manager and connect your unregistered iLok USB(s). The iLok USB(s) will appear in the Location List, but grayed out, and a pop-up will appear. Select “yes” to add the iLok USB to your account.
iLok USB-A & USB-C. The iLok USB is fully backward compatible with previous versions – so all software developed for use with a 2nd generation iLok will continue to work with a 3rd generation iLok USB-A or USB-C.
Introducing the iLok USB-C. In addition to the iLok USB-A, we are now offering the iLok USB-C which uses the USB Type- C connector. Both iLok devices hold up to 1,500 authorizations—3x more than before—and deliver twice the transfer speed of the second generation iLok USB.
All iLok enabled licenses can be activated to the iLok USB Smart Key. Some publishers allow computer or iLok Cloud activations. With the iLok License Manager, you can move your licenses to where they are the most convenient for you.

Software publishers can offer licenses that can be activated to your host computer, an iLok USB, or the iLok Cloud, or shared over a network. Some publishers may only allow some of these activation locations, or may require an iLok USB for their products.
The iLok USB is a key device that holds licenses for participating software products. A single iLok USB can store up to 1500 separate licenses (3rd generation), 500 separate licenses (2nd generation), or 118 separate licenses (1st generation).
