Since whipworms can prevent your dog from digesting its food properly, you should check if it has a dull coat or if it’s lost weight since these are signs of a lack of nutrition.

Whipworms are intestinal parasites that are about 1/4 inch (6 mm) long. They live in the cecum (a pouch that forms the first part of the large intestine) and large intestine of dogs, where they cause severe irritation to the intestinal lining.
The most common clinical signs of whipworms may include any of the following: Blood or mucus in feces. Straining to defecate. Weight loss. Anemia, lethargy, pale mucus membranes. Soft stools or diarrhea. Dehydration. Decreased appetite.
