Purpose: At present, Substance Use Disorders (inclusive of Opioid Use Disorder (OUD)) are the most critical public health issue in the U.S. In Texas, the number of opioid overdose deaths has nearly quadrupled in the last 20 years.

In Texas, a majority of students reported themselves to be light drinkers (56%) as opposed to moderate (24%), heavy (3%), or problem (0.5%) drinkers. Additionally, 17% of students reported abstaining from alcohol use altogether (Figure 1). Figure 1.
