The Battle of Corydon was the only official Civil War battle in Indiana, and the battle site is the only one north of the Ohio River. The site commemorates the effort of Confederate Gen. John Hunt Morgan to spread the war to the north.

Battle of Athens State Historic Site is an historic battlefield and state park located in Clark County, Missouri, along the banks of the Des Moines River. It is the site of the Battle of Athens, fought in 1861 during the American Civil War.
