Knox Residential Box is inherently a very strong device that must be mounted properly to ensure maximum security. A limit of two (2) keys may be hung on the inside key hook. THE UNIT WILL NOT HOLD MORE THAN TWO (2) KEYS.
If installing the box on a thin or hollow wall, use a solid backing (like 3/8" steel plate fastened to solid studs on both sides) for secure mounting. Mounting to solid beams or steel support is best. Installation of this product should be performed only by individuals skilled in the use of the tools and equipment necessary for installation.
WARNING: Read all instructions carefully before beginning installation. This unit must be installed by a qualified installer and in accordance with applicable local codes and ordinances that govern this type of equipment.
INSTALLATION. Once the Knox Box arrives, it will need to be securely installed by the owner, or owner's representative, on the building exterior, where specified by fire code official(s), and according to manufacturer's recommendations, following manufacturer installation instructions.
26 Σεπ 2017 · The Knox-Box is securely mounted to the building on a solid wall or beam to help deter would-be criminals. The instructions provided are for a surface mounted box. Use the stud finder to locate a stud on the interior side of the wall where the Knox-Box will be installed.
