This project will improve I-45 from Beltway 8 to I-10, and reroute I-45 through the downtown Houston area along I-10 and US 59/I-69. Portions of I-10 and US 59/I-69 will be improved as well.

Interstate 45 (I-45 [a]) is a major Interstate Highway located entirely within the U.S. state of Texas. While most primary Interstate routes which have numbers ending in "5" are cross-country north–south routes, I-45 is comparatively short, with the entire route located within Texas.
7 Μαρ 2018 · The Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act of 1991 requires the United States Secretary of Transportation to designate US-69 between the Texas state line and Checotah as an Interstate highway upon request from ODOT. I'm guessing this would be a northern extension of I-45?
Interstate 45 Extension. Despite the U.S. 75 extending north along a freeway to McKinney and U.S. 69 at Sherman, there are no formal plans to extend Interstate 45 northward from Dallas into Oklahoma.
