1 Αυγ 2006 · The IMS was well developed in the distal half of the lower leg and its vascular supply from the posterior tibial artery was frequently seen at 60 mm proximal from the tip of the medial malleolus. We advocate that these anatomical features contribute to clinical applications of the IMS flap.
Comparison of septal position in patients with direct and indirect lower limb injury. Measurements are from proximal to distal positions of 25%, 50%, and 75% of the leg length.
1 Φεβ 2006 · The anatomy of the intermuscular septum (IMS) of the lower leg has been studied in 10 legs of 10 cadavers. The IMS was well developed in the distal half of the lower leg and its...
21 Ιουλ 2021 · Abstract. Background: Compartment syndrome is the excess swelling within an inelastic compartment leading to excessive compartment pressure. Lower limb trauma has a high risk of compartment syndrome, which is typically mitigated using a two-incision fasciotomy.
23 Μαΐ 2023 · The divisions of the lower leg are made up by intermuscular septa that are extensions of the overlying fascia. Within the posterior compartment of the leg, an additional septum further separates the compartment into two additional layers; superficial and deep.
23 Απρ 2024 · Compartment syndrome occurs when the intramuscular pressure (IMP) within an enclosed muscle compartment increases to the point where it restricts the blood flow to the region and thereby causes pain and impaired muscle function.
The transverse intermuscular septum is one of the three intermuscular septae of the lower leg, with the remaining two being the anterior and posterior intermuscular septae. These intermuscular septae are continuous with the crural fascia and separate the muscles of the leg into functional compartments. The transverse intermuscular septum is ...
