21 Αυγ 2013 · The 32 GB and 64 GB configurations of the iPod touch 3rd Gen all are fully compatible with iOS 4 and iOS 5, though. By contrast, the 8 GB iPod touch ( A1288 ) released alongside the "3rd Gen" models in 2009 is not fully compatible with iOS 4 and it cannot run iOS 5 at all .
The iPod touch 3rd generation (32 GB and 64 GB) shares the same specs as the iPhone 3GS and came with a variety of new features that weren't offered in previous models, such as voice control (which can only be accessed using a remote control mic), accessibility, and a faster processor.
The 32 GB and 64 GB configurations of the iPod touch 3rd Generation are fully supported by the last version of iOS 5. They are not supported running iOS 6 or subsequent versions of the operating system. The 8 GB configuration is not even supported by iOS 5.
The iPod touch 2nd Gen provides either 8, 16, or 32 GB of storage whereas the iPhone 3G is available with 8 GB or 16 GB. Interestingly, Apple claims 24 hours of music playback and 7 hours of video for the iPhone 3G and 36 hours of music playback but only 6 hours of video playback for the iPod touch 2nd Gen.
