14 Ιουλ 2022 · Bus Éireann operates the school transport schemes on behalf of the Department of Education. As part of the scheme, transport is provided to and from school for: children who reside remote from their nearest primary and post-primary school. children with special educational needs.
26 Απρ 2024 · The school transport scheme provides transport for children who live 3.2 km or more from their local primary school. The scheme is funded by the Department of Education. Applications for school transport services 2024-2025 are now open. The closing date for on-time applications is 26 April 2024.
School transport services for eligible children will generally operate during the ‘Standard School Year’ and will facilitate a child’s attendance during normal school opening and closing times only.
School Transport Scheme services for the 2021/2022 school year will fully operate but with additional measures and hygiene requirements in place. Please read this letter and the attached guidance carefully.
School Transport Scheme to both families and in supporting wider Government policies has been very apparent. In summary, school transport not only plays an important part in supporting children's access to education, but it also aligns to wider Government objectives.

7 Ιουν 2024 · The School Transport Scheme 2030 report has now been published, which marks the largest review of the School Transport Scheme since it was established in 1967. The Government is committed to working to achieve the report’s recommendation of expanding access to the scheme so that an additional 100,000 pupils can be carried by 2030.
