Applications for school transport services 2024-2025 are now open. The closing date for on-time applications is 26 April 2024.
26 Απρ 2024 · How to apply for the School Transport Scheme. If your child is enrolling in post-primary school for the first time, you can apply for school transport online on the Bus Éireann website. You can also contact Bus Éireann with questions about your application or ticket.
The School Transport Scheme (pdf) applies to children with a special educational needs recognised by the Department of Education. The child must be attending the nearest recognised mainstream school or special class/special school or a unit resourced to meet their special educational needs.
The Government’s Post Primary School Transport Scheme exists to support the transport to and from school of students who reside 4.8 kilometres or more from their nearest school. The scheme is operated by Bus Éireann on behalf of the Department of Education and Skills (DES).
