Sport Ireland offers three workshops in the area of Safeguarding. These are Safeguarding 1 (Basic Awareness), Safeguarding 2 (Club Children's Officer), & Safeguarding 3 (Designated Liaison Person).
You must complete all 4 modules before receiving a certificate. Best Practice: Examine best practice procedures including - codes of conduct within sport. Understanding Safeguarding: Demonstrate an understanding of why safeguarding children and young people in sport is important.

The welfare and protection of children and young people in our sport is paramount. Our safeguarding policies have been developed as required by national legislation, policy and guidelines as outlined in Children First and by Sport Ireland.
26 Φεβ 2019 · The new Safeguarding Guidance, which was developed in conjunction with Sport NI and National Governing Bodies of Sport addresses issues facing sports leaders involved in children and young people’s sport by providing guidance relating directly to their roles and responsibilities within their clubs.
