Fluorosis is a condition that occurs when you ingest too much fluoride over a long period of time. Types include dental fluorosis and skeletal fluorosis.
Damage to the soft tissues due to high doses of fluoride may occur when it passes through the blood-brain, blood-testis, and blood-placenta barrier. Thus, various treatment approaches have been recommended for dental fluorosis patient depending on the severity of the disease.
