I downloaded something from Gamulator that said it was an installer for the game I wanted, but it didn't install the game and now I'm fairly certain it was something dangerous. I can't find anything on my PC, even though I ran scans. Is there a way for me to know if it added a virus or malware?

gamulator research: They say that Gamulator is safe...but the sites usually are filled with “1000 win visitor” viruses/scams or are outdated + Most of the sites are down, etc, ect. if you research “safest rom sites” it’ll come up with romsmania.
While there might be legit download links it's best to avoid them. Use https://www.reddit.com/r/Roms/comments/m59zx3/roms_megathread_40_html_edition_2021/ for legit downloads. In addition, none of their roms are verified, so you may encounter issues created from the scraping of roms, or bad dumps. Use at your own risk.
