  1. The acropolis museum is one of the best museums I have ever been to - it is 100% worth it especially after seeing the acropolis. The level of detail and the whole layout is astounding. Also very interesting how they have special spaces for artifacts that are currently in the British museum.

  2. The National Archeology is IMO a better overall museum as it gives an overview of all Ancient Greek art from the very beginning up until Roman times, but the Acropolis museum is nice to supplement your trip to the Acropolis.

  3. I have to agree with this. We only had a day in Athens and the Acropolis is hands down one of the coolest sights I’ve seen on Earth. It has such a presence. That and the Athens museum, the entire place is elevated above an ancient city ruin and the floor is made of glass. It’s just outstanding. Athens is a great, great city.

  4. You can visit the Museum before or after the Acropolis (do note you’ll need a separate ticket). It comes down to personal preference, however, if you only have one day, I’d recommend visiting the Acropolis first to avoid the crowds.
