The acropolis museum is one of the best museums I have ever been to - it is 100% worth it especially after seeing the acropolis. The level of detail and the whole layout is astounding. Also very interesting how they have special spaces for artifacts that are currently in the British museum.
The National Archeology is IMO a better overall museum as it gives an overview of all Ancient Greek art from the very beginning up until Roman times, but the Acropolis museum is nice to supplement your trip to the Acropolis.

Try to combine Acropolis with the Acropolis Museum, my preference would be to visit the actual site first and then go to the museum to see how it evolved and make the connection easier with the artifacts of each temple.

19 Αυγ 2010 · Do you recommend touring the Acropolis and other associated sites with an experienced guide, or just taking a guidebook and doing it yourself? My girlfriend & I are visiting in 2 weeks and can't decide if we should sign up with one of the walking tours or not. Is it really worth the money?
