The acropolis museum is one of the best museums I have ever been to - it is 100% worth it especially after seeing the acropolis. The level of detail and the whole layout is astounding. Also very interesting how they have special spaces for artifacts that are currently in the British museum.
I have a big fascination for philosophy and the Ancient Greek culture. So for my trip to Athens I really wanted to learn more about it's rich history with context. I thought solo-ing the Acropolis and it's museum at my pace would do that, but it has left me feeling disappointed.
The National Archeology is IMO a better overall museum as it gives an overview of all Ancient Greek art from the very beginning up until Roman times, but the Acropolis museum is nice to supplement your trip to the Acropolis.

I want to devote a good part of one day to the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum- which one should I do first? My instinct is to do the Acropolis first, but would it maybe be a better experience if I've already seen the museum?
