See God upon his throne. This vision is explained, Joh 12:41, that Isaiah now saw Christ's glory, and spake of Him, which is a full proof that our Saviour is God. The LORD was sitting on a throne! God was still enthroned in heaven and was still in charge of all creation. i. There is a throne in heaven, and the LORD God sits upon it as the sovereign ruler of the universe! This is the central fact of heaven; that there is an occupied throne in heaven.
I. See God upon his throne, and that throne high and lifted up, not only above other thrones, as it transcends them, but over other thrones, as it rules and commands them. Isaiah saw not Jehovah -the essence of God (no man has seen that, or can see it), but Adonai -his dominion.
See the sovereignty of the Eternal Monarch: he sits upon a throne —a throne of glory, before which we must worship,—a throne of government, under which we must be subject,—and a throne of grace, to which we may come boldly. This throne is high, and lifted up above all competition and contradiction. II.
Lord--here Adonai, Jehovah in Isa 6:5; Jesus Christ is meant as speaking in Isa 6:10, according to Jhn 12:41. Isaiah could only have "seen" the Son, not the divine essence ( Jhn 1:18 ). The words in Isa 6:10 are attributed by Paul ( Act 28:25, 26 ) to the Holy Ghost.

vision, conversion, self-judgment, cleansing, self-surrender, communion, commission, intercession. This vision is the glory of Christ (John 12:41). The fulfillment of the hardening judgment of the nation, the blinding of their eyes did not set in completely in Isaiah's day.
