This first lesson in this series on the Book of Revelation begins with our taking a mental trip to Patmos, a small Greek island in the Aegean Sea. From one of the highest points on the island we can see the landscape. The entire island is about seven miles in length and at its widest point about six miles.
It was on this island, to which John was banished by the emperor Domitian (A.D. 95), that he received from God the wondrous Revelation recorded in his book. It is now called Patmo.
