TL;DR kid says IXL was a waste of money because it wasn't used for four years, then gives a review of IXL over the course of four years.
It does not help with math, just simple review. Not only that, it prepares you for tests, more specifically the knowledge sections (if you don't have those, it is basically the part of the test that tests what you know based on the material taught in class, with no critical thinking).
IXL scaffolds the problems and provides explanations if a students answers incorrectly (debatable how useful this is as it’s often confusing for low readers and ELD students). If students use the IXL app, the whole screen can be used for scratch work.
