JABO, Inc. was founded in 1987 by Joanne Argabrite and Jack Bogard. Mr. Bogard was the owner of the Bogard Company which had suffered financial setbacks while in Cairo, WV. Ms. Argabrite was the accountant who was helping him resuscitate his company.

Both Jabo, Inc. and its new incarnation as Jabo-Vitro Agate, Inc. produced mainly industrial marbles. However, from time to time the company released mostly limited runs of swirl type marbles, thanks to the skills brought to the company by McCullough, formerly of Champion Agate.
This page is dedicated to the Identification of the JABO Inc. Sammy Mountain, and Dave’s Appalachian Swirl (D.A.S.) Marbles beginning with the Experimental Runs in late 2007 – Today by marble master and legend Dave McCullough.

1 Ιαν 2014 · The Vitro Agate Tiger Eye is a transparent clear base marble with four different colored patches brushed on the surface. Vitro produced a small run of marbles called “ Eight-Finger Ribbon ”. These are a transparent color base with eight ribbons of opaque white, four on one side, four on the other.
1 Ιαν 2014 · In 1992, JABO, Inc. bought Vitro Agate Company, moving the Vitro machinery from Anacortes, Washington, to the Reno, Ohio, location. The only machine not purchased by JABO was a marble machine capable of making sizes larger than 1”, which was owned by House of Marbles in England.
