JABO, Inc. Reno, Ohio. 1987 – The present. JABO, Inc. was founded in 1987 by Joanne Argabrite and Jack Bogard. Mr. Bogard was the owner of the Bogard Company which had suffered financial setbacks while in Cairo, WV. Ms. Argabrite was the accountant who was helping him resuscitate his company.
JABO's Industrial marble business was in severe decline. They went from fifty-five, to six full time employees. Rumors were coming from the top that a company closure was likely.
These Jabo, DAS, and SMM, are going to need a book to go-with. For sure! Thanks to marble community members, for posting very cool ones, that got me started on just getting what I can while they’re out there.
100% Jabo marbles. They do not make Jabos anymore so there are some types that have value. The head of Jabo was Dave McCullough who oversaw operations at Champion Agate.
With a lucrative industrial marble business, JABO would purchase a location in Williamstown, WV to increase production for the industrial marble demand, though colorful marbles were never made. By 2006, JABO's industrial marble business was waning to the point of massive cutbacks and Joanne's order to halt production of Classics.
