Richard Roland Benson Jr. (November 24, 1929 – December 6, 2023), known professionally as Jack Hogan, was an American actor most notable for the role of PFC William G. Kirby on the 1960s television show Combat!
In 1955, Jack headed to New York to study at the American Theatre Wing. A year later, he returned to Hollywood where a string of acting jobs, both in films and on TV, followed. In 1962, he signed to play the quick-tempered, troublesome, womanizer Pvt. Kirby, in ABC's hit series, Combat!
