Monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) are developed in a laboratory to mimic natural antibodies produced by the immune system. mAbs are administered through intravenous infusion that takes as little as 20 minutes. This therapy is different than convalescent plasma collected from donors.
Acute care hospitals include Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, MI and Henry Ford Allegiance Health in Jackson, MI – both Magnet® hospitals; Henry Ford Macomb Hospital; Henry Ford West Bloomfield Hospital; and Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital.
Monoclonal antibody (MAB) treatment is given one time through a vein (intravenous or IV) for at least one hour. Anyone who meets criteria can contact the COVID-19 Infusion Clinic for possible treatment at 616.391.0351 or covid19research@spectrumhealth.org
MyMichigan Health has a specialized Infusion Centers providing chemotherapy, antibiotics, blood transfusions, hydration and other specialty intravenous treatments on an outpatient basis.
