As one department, of the James Island Public Service District, JIFD serves the citizens from four (4) stations with 54 full-time professional fire service members. Every member of the department is certified at the Firefighter II level and maintains Emergency Medical Responder credentials.
By 2028, the James Island PSD will be recognized as a model special purpose district, providing excellent services through skillfully trained and well-resourced fire, solid waste, and wastewater service teams.
