The Nakajima Kikka (橘花, " tachibana orange blossom"), initially designated Kōkoku Nigō Heiki (皇国二号兵器, "Imperial Weapon No. 2"), is Japan 's first turbojet-powered aircraft. It was developed late in World War II, and the single completed prototype flew only once, in August 1945, before the end of the conflict.
The Ki-84 is generally considered the best Japanese fighter to operate in large numbers during the conflict. The aircraft boasted high speed and excellent maneuverability with an armament (up to two 30 mm and two 20 mm cannon) that gave it formidable firepower.

The Ki-84 outperformed US aircraft like the P-51 Mustang and had combat success until overwhelmed. Only one out of 3,514 Nakajima Ki-84s built survives today, housed in a museum in Kagoshima, Japan.
