Japanese Studies. Students in the Japanese Program have the opportunity to explore the Japanese language and culture. A focus on the language will empower students to cultivate all the fundamental linguistic skills, such as speaking, reading and writing in Modern Japanese.
You can earn credits in a number of international languages, including: Cantonese, German, Hebrew, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Vietnamese. Please note that the courses offered may change year to year. The Ontario Curriculum: Classical and International Languages.
Observe a Class. Here at the Japan Foundation, Toronto our Japanese language courses are open to observation to offer teachers and students in Canada a chance to learn about and learn through the Japan Foundation’s Marugoto textbook series as well as the JF Standard for Japanese Language Education.
Japanese Studies offers an introduction to the main elements of the modern Japanese language — both oral and written — with opportunities to study the history, culture, economy, and geography of Japan.
