Jay and the Americans are an American rock group who formed in the late 1950s.
In college, Jay, a theater arts major, started a tribute band playing 50’s and 60’s music that quickly became a well known, and popular part of the Chicago music scene. Their success was based greatly upon the strong vocals Jay sang so seemingly effortlessly.
