While you will need 35 oz of oil for an 8 Fourstroke model, Verado models need 211 oz or 246 oz, depending on the model. However, here is what you need to know about oil capacities for different Mercury engines and much more.
Mercury’s line of 2-stroke oils includes the Premium, Premium Plus, and Optimax oils. Premium 2-Stroke oil is a conventional oil manufactured for low- to mid-horsepower outboard engines. Premium Plus and Optimax are synthetic blend oils that provide maximum protection and superior lubrication.
11 Ιουλ 2024 · The Yamaha F60 (High Thrust) has an engine oil capacity of 2.1 liters, equivalent to 2.22 US quarts, and a lower unit oil capacity of 0.67 liters, equivalent to 0.71 US quarts. The Yamaha F60 (Jet) has an engine oil capacity of 2.1 liters (2.22 US quarts) and no lower unit oil capacity.
Use a motor oil specifically formulated for the rigors of the marine environment, like Yamalube® 4M for 4-stroke outboards, and Yamalube® 2M for two-stroke outboards. NMMA-Certified Oil Marine engine oils are so different in their requirements that special levels of certification exist: FC-W® (4 stroke) and TC-W3® (2 stroke).
III. Oil and Fuel Specifications A. Oil To operate engine you need to use a clean, high quality, detergent oil. For recommended engine oil, see Table 1 on page 3. In addition, you need to be sure the oil sump contains the correct amount of oil to operate properly. NOTES The oil sump capacity is 21 ounces or 1-1/4 U.S. Pints (.62 liters).
