29 Ιαν 2017 · The dead in Christ will rise first at the Rapture (1 Th 4:16). Old Testament saints and Tribulation martyrs will rise later. The resurrection of the damned will occur a thousand years later (Re 20:5)—the resurrection of judgment called the Great White Throne judgment for non-believers of all ages.

What does John 5:28 mean? Jesus has already referred to His power over life and death (John 5:21). Part of this power includes the ability to overcome spiritual death (John 5:24), as well as physical death (John 5:25). It also means that Jesus has the right, as God, to judge all mankind at the eventual end-times resurrection (Revelation 20:12).
John 5:28-30 (NIV) “A time is coming” when there will be a universal physical resurrection at Jesus’ Word – you can count on it, as it will surely come. There will be a resurrection at the end of time – nearer every day – where all must appear before the Judge - therefore, all must be raised.
