There are seven main areas covered in the upper limb; The muscles, bones, joints, nerves, blood and lymphatic supply, anatomical areas, and the structures in the hand.

Stability depends almost entirely on the strength of surrounding muscles (Rotator Cuff). Commonly dislocated anteriorly and inferiorly. Anteriorly shoulder joint protected by subscapularis.

Distal surfaces of the carpal bones articulate with the bases of the metacarpals. The important thumb joint is the articulation between the trapezium and the bease of the first metacarpal. The INTERMETACARPAL joints ar adjacent metacarpals articulating with each other’s bases.
