22 Μαΐ 2023 · Limonana, also called Lemon & Mint Lemonade in the Middle-East, is very popular in Egypt, Israel, Lebanon and Jordan. There are so many versions! It is sipped during lunch, at bars on the beach, and grabbed on the go on a hot day. I’m sharing this Lemonade made in Jordan with you.
If you make no other drink this summer, let it be this one! Lemonade made with fresh lemons has always seemed so refreshing to me. But I discovered a version which takes the basics to a whole new, easy and quick level.

It’s no surprise that in many places around the world where lemons grow, some form of a lemon drink is popular in the summer. Lemon is, after all, very refreshing, and it’s a great way to use the popular crop.
This lemonade is not syrupy sweet like some you find in the US, but instead the sweetness is balanced with tart lemon juice and bright, flavorful mint. It’s also common to see mint lemonade blended with crushed ice to form more of a slush which would be perfect for a hot day.
