13 Οκτ 2009 · On this day, Oct. 13, 1976, Joseph Kallinger, known as the Shoemaker and accused of using his 10-year-old son to help kill and torture unsuspecting families, was convicted of murder.
24 Σεπ 2024 · Joseph Kallinger and his son Micheal were arrested on kidnapping and rape charges. Kallinger was eventually charged with three counts of murder for his son Joseph Jr, Maria Fasching, and a neighborhood boy.
Kallinger was arrested and imprisoned in 1972 when his children went to the police. While in jail, he had scored 82 on an IQ test and was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia, and state psychiatrists recommended that he be supervised with his family. Police arrested Joseph and two of his sons, Michael, 13 and James, 11 in their home after linking Kallinger to the crime with a bloodstained shirt. They were not sure which son was Joseph’s accomplice because they looked alike, but James was released, and Joseph and Michael were jailed. August 1975 39
20 Ιουλ 2020 · Kallinger was arrested and charged with assault, robbery, and murder on January 17, 1975. Michael was also arrested as was his other son, James (11) because police were unsure which son was Kallinger’s accomplice at the time.
